Baku Aquatic Palace
The origin of this aquatic centre lies in the celebration of the First European Games in the city of Baku. It sands out as one of the city’s architectural icons.
The palace has a spectator capacity for 6,000 spectators, two 50 m pools and an impressive diving tower. In addition, it has been equipped with a diversity of additional services such as fitness, spa and food and beverages area that will complement the offer of the Centre, addressed to a large segment of the population. It will stand as a legacy of the large sports events that is going to host now and in the future.
Set within an elliptical volume adapted to the needs of the brief, the skin of the building is expressed in a sober and austere way through large glazed surface areas. These incorporate led displays that turns the Centre into a visible landmark of the city’s urban landscape.
